Cambridge
SAT Colloquium: Overview
Purpose:
The general purpose of the
Cambridge
SAT Colloquium
is to
prepare academically promising 7th through 11th grade students to:

Test), which is officially administered for National Merit
Scholar results during the fall of a student's junior year.
(Students are granted this prestigious scholarship regardless
of a family's income).

scores. Combined with a high grade point and desirable
extra-curricular activities, competitive SAT I scores are
necessary to qualify a student for admission to the nation's
top-ranked universities.
Objectives:
The specific objectives of the
Cambridge
SAT Colloquium
are
as follows:
- Mathematics enrichment
(arithmetic, algebra, geometry, quantitative comparison
strategies and other mathematical skills and concepts).

(critical thinking, reading comprehension, analogies skills,
sentence completion tactics and vocabulary development).
- Application of the
above-developed skills to the PSAT & SAT I, which these
students will be taking officially as high school juniors and
seniors.
- Encouragement of teamwork,
cooperation, friendship and social maturation within an
intellectually stimulating climate and close-knit peer group.
